A Sample Schedule

Devotion, Hymns, and Recitation (9:00am to 9:30am)
Every morning at Community, we will open the day with reading from Scripture, hearing a focussed message from our chaplain, sing the week’s Hymn together, and drill our yearly Recitation.

Memory Work (9:30am to 10:00am)
Our Memory Work Guide is a unique UK-based curriculum in 11 subjects: Maths, English Grammar, History, Latin, Timeline, Geography, Science, Scripture, Hymn, and Bible. Each week, the new memory work is introduced, and the parent is equipped to review the memory work for the week. Memory work is learnt through song, hand motions, and tracing maps!

Student Presentations & Quiet Snack (10:00am to 10:30am)
Each week, every student stands in front of the class to give a 2 to 3 minute presentation. It can range from a simple Show-and-Tell presentation to reciting poetry, singing a song, playing an instrument, or just retelling an experience or event. Students will also be asked to research and teach on one important person in history at least once in a term.

Hands-on Activity (Science and Fine Arts) (10:30am to 11:15am)
Each week in community, the tutor will lead either a Science or Fine Arts activity to get students physically engaged in learning. This year’s Science memory work, we will be focussing on Biology and Physics. Our Fine Arts lessons will be geared toward learning drawing, painting, and sculpting.

Review (Veritas Mastery) (11:15am to 12:00pm)
In order to master all of the memory work each week, we will review up to 6 weeks’ previous memory work and play games and have competitions that demonstrate mastery. At the end of the year, students may choose to achieve “Veritas Mastery” by being tested four times on all of the year’s memory work.

Choir (1:00pm to 1:30pm)
Singing together unifies our community. and we do so by learning the great hymns ,chants, and choral songs together. We will also be learning elements of music theory and listening to the Great Composers of history. At the end of each term, we perform two or three songs and it is quite the highlight of our programme.

String Orchestra (1:35pm to 2:35pm)
Students will have the opportunity to learn a stringed instrument (violin, viola, cello, or string bass)! This fun activity imparts the knowledge of music notation and music-making in the most satisfying way. Children can start as complete beginners and more advanced learners will sharpen their musical skills in note-reading, technique, and musicality.

Martial Arts & Ballet (2:40pm to 3:40pm)
Physical exercise helps build student poise, strength, and teamwork. We divide the girls and the boys into two groups: boys learn Martial Arts whilst girls learn Ballet. This Autumn term 2024, the girls will learn sugar moulding from Mrs Anthraper whilst Mrs Fortunato is on maternity leave. Ballet will resume in January 2025. This is usually the most exciting portion of our day for our students!

Tidy Up and Dismissal (3:45pm to 4:00pm)
To promote orderliness, we gather together all students to recite our motto and tidy up together before being dismissed.

Parents must remain with their students during Community Day. The purpose of meeting and learning together is for the tutor to help demonstrate for the parents how to teach the material for the week. There is an area for younger children to play; however, parents are responsible for watching their own children.
